Fishing for the future-Game

Students simulate several seasons of fishing in a game and learn about the impact of fishing on the environment.
The game is based on the theory of 'the tragedy of the commons'. Students learn the difference between sustainable and unsustainable fishing. Afterwards, students discuss the problems they encountered looking at the environmental, economical and social impacts of overfishing.
Printed handouts per student, plain and peanut m&m's or similar small candy or dried food. For each student: 1 straw, 1 cup
For each group: a bowl.
