Stacking water-Water salinity experiment
Target Group: Middle School
Ocean Literacy Principle: 1,4
Students investigate in this experiment what happens if you mix water of different densities.
Students simulate for instance what happens in an estuary: fresh water comes from the river into the ocean through the estuary. They come up with hypotheses and predict what will happen and carry out the experiment to see whether their prediction was correct. The results are discussed.
