Threats to mangroves

The teacher draws a few mangroves, fish and a house on the shoreline on the board. In various scenarios the environment changes. Some mangroves die, people build a dike, sea level rises. Students discuss the different threats in each scenario. They think about the impact on the mangroves and the community living there.
